Being a student at NEO 1968-1970, was a great experience in my life. I continue to be a small part of NEO by serving on the NEO Development Foundation Board.

I attended OU my freshman year as a Sooner football team "Walk-On", but was injured. While working a summer job (Little League umpire) in Shawnee, OK, for an NEO alum, Jerry Carlton, he asked if I would be interested in playing football at NEO for Red Robertson, and I said, "Yes", which would enable me to get a full scholarship for my sophomore year. I really enjoyed my time at NEO, made new friends, and enjoyed some success in football and track that year. I returned to OU, graduated, got married, served in the Navy, and worked for some interesting companies (subcontactor to the Atomic Energy Commission, IBM, Champlin Petroleum, Union Pacififc Resources, and a couple of software companies) until my retirement in 2017.

My time at NEO was the best of my life. I talk positively to anyone that asks about NEO and encourage many Seniors to consider NEO as their next level of education and athletics. I get the opportunity to keep up via social media with the school and activities. Thank you Ashley Mullins "The hardest thing you will ever do is leave"

Miss it

Played softball from 2005 - 2007 for the greatest coach their ever will be, Eric Iverson. Created so many great memories. The only regret was not knowing those were the best 2 years of my life. Wishing I soaked it in a lot more!

Best 3 years of my life when I attended NEO! Shout out to my softball coaches that are like my fathers to me, they made it worth it!

My time at NEO was a time I will truly cherish forever. My freshman year was a tough year for me, but with the help of Coach Ivy, Ed Cain, and Lauren Strack I made it through. When I came back for my second year I was so ready. My second year of college will always go down as the best year of my college career. I felt so at home finally at NEO, I had made so many new friends outside of the softball team. When Covid came around and ended our softball season it was devastating. The thing that was the most upsetting was that I thought I had lost the little time I had left at NEO. Little did I know god had other plans. After being at home for months not knowing if we would be able to come back to NEO for a third year, Coach Ivy finally called us and told us we had no choice we had to come back. My third year at NEO was interesting to say the least. We were all just trying to figure everything out with all the new Covid restrictions, but we made the most of it! When our season ended and the school year ended I was heart broken, I never wanted to leave NEO. I wished and wished it was a 4 year. The memories, the people, the place. There’s nothing else like NEO. I will always remember the late nights at the casinos, or running from dorm to dorm just hanging out with everybody. I’ll remember the practices that felt like went on forever. Most importantly I’ll remember the relationships I built with so many people there. I will never forget my time at NEO. Exit 313 Forever.

I had the pleasure of attending NEO from ‘14-‘16. I also had the blessing of being a part of the softball program during my time on campus. Both experiences were something I will always be grateful for. NEO brought me so many incredible memories, friendships, life lessons, personal development and a beautiful marriage. My heart will always ache to have had a little more time playing softball at NEO. But I will always pray that the future students get the experience that I had during my time. I’ll always be a proud NEO alumni.

I graduated from NEO in 2018 with 2 associates degrees. 1 was in pre physical education and the other was in pre early childhood education. I also was a student athletic trainer for 3 semesters helping with football, soccer, and softball. After those 3 semesters I helped with softball only. When I left NEO I went to Missouri Southern University and graduated with my bachelors in Elementary Education. I’m currently in my second year teaching at Quapaw Elementary school where I teach 3rd grade and help coach high school baseball. I’m forever thankful for the bonds I formed during my time at NEO!

I play softball for NEO from 2012-2014. We won our region, and went to the national tournament my freshman year. We placed second in our region my sophomore year. I received all-region honors during both of my seasons at NEO. I am forever thankful for the coaching staff, memories, and friendships I made while at NEO.

Played on both National contending softball teams (06-07)4th place finish and (07-08)

My memories all include softball. We were a team but more importantly we were family. Coach Ivy was not only an amazing mentor, coach and leader he is a person that I admire and hope to be half the person that he is.
